WASHINGTON, Nov. 10 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Disappearance, Forced Conversions and Forced Marriages of Coptic Christian Women in Egypt - a pioneering report on human trafficking-was released today by Christian Solidarity International (CSI) and the Coptic Foundation for Human Rights.

Researched in Egypt by American anti-trafficking specialist Michele Clark and Egyptian women's rights activist Nadia Ghaly, the report documents a criminal pattern involving deception, sexual violence, captivity, compulsion to convert to Islam and forced marriage. This disturbing phenomenon corresponds to internationally recognized definitions of human trafficking.

Among the documented cases are:

R. 17-year-old Christian from Al-Fayoum: Drugged, kidnapped, raped, coerced into conversion to Islam, forcibly married.

J. 19-year-old Christian from Cairo: Abducted, raped, incarcerated, forcibly married, converted to Islam.

M. 15-year-old Christian from El Menya: raped, gave birth, converted to Islam, physically scarred, forcibly married, drugged, and prostituted.

The report demonstrates these violations of fundamental human rights are encouraged by the prevalence of cultural norms in Egypt - often rooted in religious tradition - that legitimize violence against women and non-Muslims. The report furthermore finds the Egyptian authorities tacitly complicit by consistently demonstrating a lack of will to adequately investigate allegations of rape, abduction and abuse.

Egypt's prestigious Al-Ahram Weekly recently broke a longstanding taboo by acknowledging that allegations of widespread conversion and forced marriage of Coptic girls to Muslim men have brought relations between the country's Christian community and the Islamic authorities to a boiling point. Writing today to President Barack Obama, Dr. John Eibner of CSI urged the U.S. government "to encourage Egyptian President Mubarak to take credible measures to combat the trafficking of Christian women and girls." Eibner furthermore stated "the unhindered and unpunished trafficking of Christian women and girls in Egypt is a litmus test for the true state of relations between Muslims and non-Muslim minorities."

Last June in Cairo, President Obama addressed the Muslim world, calling for a new beginning in relations with the United States, and the need to uphold the rights of religious minorities and the rights of women.

The Clark-Ghaly report concludes by urging human rights institutions to undertake further research on this largely unexplored facet of human trafficking in Egypt.

The suspected Fort Hood terrorist's former mosque in Maryland is controlled by the radical Muslim Brotherhood, a Saudi-funded worldwide jihadist movement which controls many of the mosques in America.

Conventional wisdom holds that Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan "self-radicalized" without any help from the Muslim establishment before allegedly shooting 46 fellow soldiers and security guards, and murdering 13 of them at the sprawling Texas base.

Witnesses say the devout Muslim officer jumped up on a desk and shouted, "Allahu akbar!" – Allah is greatest – before opening fire and spraying more than 100 bullets inside a crowded building where troops prepared to deploy to Afghanistan and Iraq.

However, WND has learned that the Maryland mosque where Hasan worshiped before his transfer to Fort Hood preaches violent jihad and a harsh Saudi-style Islamic doctrine that denies women the right to individual expression.

Imam Faizul Khan ministered to Hasan when he worshiped at the Muslim Community Center in Silver Spring, Md. Khan has been portrayed in the media as a moderate, but he sits on the national board of directors of the radical Islamic Society of North America, or ISNA.

Federal prosecutors recently named ISNA as an unindicted terrorist co-conspirator in the largest terror finance case in U.S. history. ISNA, they say, is a front group for the Muslim Brotherhood, parent of Hamas and al-Qaida.

"ISNA has a long and disgraceful record of promoting radical Islam," says Islamic scholar and author Stephen Schwartz, a practicing Sufi Muslim.

The Brotherhood, which supports violent jihad and Islamic rule, is the subject of the bestselling new book, "Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld That's Conspiring to Islamize America."

Khan recently was replaced as head prayer leader by Mohamed Abdullahi Sheikh Mohamed, who also knew Hasan. "He was not violent; he seemed calm," Mohamed said of the suspected terrorist. "I was shocked."

He added: "Islam is not responsible."

Mohamed studied Islam at the Muslim Brotherhood–controlled Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt, world headquarters of the dangerous Brotherhood. He also holds a degree in Shariah law from the National Somali University in Mogadishu, Somalia.

The Muslim Community Center has held fundraisers for Chechen jihadists, and promotes on its website a Shariah-based financial product offered by a Muslim Brotherhood front group under federal investigation.

The mosque distributes a pamphlet on Islam that says "it is permissible to fight" in jihad "warfare." It also requires women to wear headscarves.

"When leaving the home, a Muslim woman must at least cover her hair and body in loose and unrevealing clothing, obscuring the details of her body from the public; some also choose to cover their face and hands," the mosque pamphlet advises. "Islam forbids any sex appeal."

Hasan, the American-born son of Palestinian immigrants, refused to have his picture taken with women.

His longtime mosque also forbids charging any amount of interest on a loan, calling such Western transactions a "gross violation of God's law."

The pamphlet, titled "Islam Is ...", is authored by Abu Yunus, an officer of the Saudi-based Al-Haramain Foundation, a suspected charitable front for terrorism. He recently was indicted by the Justice Department for terror financing.

Before attending Muslim Community Center, Hasan worshiped with his mother at the ultra-radical Dar al-Hijrah Islamic Center in Falls Church, Va. While there in 2001, he worshiped alongside some of the hijackers who attacked the Pentagon on 9/11.

He reportedly came under the spell of the mosque's imam Anwar al-Awlaki, who ministered privately to the hijackers.

Witnesses at Fort Hood say Hasan's eyes "lit up" when discussing al-Awlaki's teachings, which include graphic descriptions of carnal pleasures and rewards in paradise awaiting jihadi martyrs who fight infidels in the cause of Allah. Hasan, 39, was unmarried.

U.S. intelligence now believes the American-born al-Awlaki, who after 9/11 fled to Yemen, is one of al-Qaida's top spiritual advisers and recruiters.

The Senate, led by Sen. Joe Lieberman, I-Conn., plans to investigate how the Army missed numerous warning signs about Hasan's radical views.

"The murders of these 13 people was a terrorist act and, in fact, it was the most destructive terrorist act to be committed on American soil since 9/11," remarked Lieberman, who heads the Senate's Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee.

A pioneering new report released by Christian Solidarity International and The Coptic Foundation for Human Rights details the abduction, rape, forced marriage and forced islamization of Coptic women and girls in Egypt.

Despite their significant numbers in Egypt (8-12%), the Christian community, known as the Coptics, is frequently subject to widespread marginalization from society and even violent forms of abuse. According to the Egyptian Constitution, Islam is the “religion of the state” and its “principle source of legislation”.

While the hardship of minority communities in the Middle East is well documented, the abuse detailed in this report reveals a disturbing union of religious oppression, gender-based sexual and physical violence and forced marriage that corresponds with international standards of human trafficking. There have been fifty such cases in the previous year in one Egyptian parish alone.

Among the dozens of cases documented in the report:

Seventeen year old R. received a call, the polite young man introduced himself as Amir and said that he was an admirer of hers. He wanted to meet her in a church. She was drugged, kidnapped, and when she woke up,“Amir” told her that he was in reality Wali … She was given the name Fatima, beaten every day, forced to wear a black veil, and marry a man named Mahmoud whom she had never met. When she refused to have sex with Mahmoud, his family held her down while he raped her. She began bleeding profusely. She is unable to have children as a result of the rape.

The tactic complicity of the Egyptian Government is apparent in its systematic lack of investigations and prosecutions, suspension of programs designed for protection, and virtual absence of social services for survivors of this abuse.

Speaking in Cairo in June, President Obama called on the Arab world to defend the fundamental human rights of women and religious minorities in the Middle East. Although the US Government and Pope Shenouda III, the Patriarch of the Coptic Church, have protested this specific phenomenon, there has been negligible action on Capitol Hill or by the international human rights field in response.

This report demonstrates consistent patterns used by perpetrators, their victims, government and law enforcement, and members of Egypt’s faith communities. Also valuable, the report concludes with a set of recommendations for the international community, the Government of Egypt, the Coptic community in Egypt and the Christian community abroad.

ISTANBUL, November 9 (Compass Direct News) –
A Coptic Christian blogger in Egypt held in prison for more than a year without charge said today he will go on a hunger strike unless authorities grant his next application for release.

Hani Nazeer, a 28-year-old high school social worker from Qena, Egypt and author of the blog “Karz El Hob,” received word today that his latest application for release, sent to the Ministry of the Interior a week ago, was denied. His attorneys said they would re-apply for his release tomorrow.

The interior ministry did not “supply the grounds for refusal” according to Rawda Ahamad, Nazeer’s lead defense attorney.

“He has no charges against him,” Ahamad said. “He is not a criminal. He must be released immediately. He’s an innocent man – anyone exposed to this severe injustice would do the same.”



On Oct. 3, 2008, Nazeer was arrested by Egypt’s State Security Investigations (SSI) and sent to Burj Al-Arab prison. Although police never charged him with any crime, Nazeer has been detained for more than a year under Egypt’s administrative imprisonment law.

Nazeer ran afoul of SSI officers a few days before his arrest when a group of local teenagers visited his website and clicked on a link to an online copy of “Azazil’s Goat in Mecca,” a novel written under the pseudonym “Father Utah.” The book is a response to “Azazil,” a novel by Yusuf Zidane, critical of Christianity.

Insulting religion is illegal in Egypt, but the law is enforced unequally. Zidane’s critique of Christianity garnered him fame and awards throughout the Arab world. Nazeer’s website link cost him his freedom, despite the fact that police have never publicly produced any evidence linking Nazeer to Utah’s work. After Nazeer was arrested, posts continued on Utah’s website.

Nazeer has reported to his attorneys that he has been placed in prison with felons, some of them violent. He also claims that prison authorities have pressured him to convert to Islam.

Gamel Eid, executive director of the Arabic Network for Human Rights Information, the group representing Nazeer, stood by his client’s accusations, saying police have urged inmates to suggest to Nazeer that officers would work to free him if he were to convert to Islam.

Nazeer’s situation is complicated by the fact that his writings upset both Islamic authorities and the hierarchy of the Coptic Orthodox Church. On one hand, he criticized the increasing Islamization of Egyptian civil society. On the other, he lamented the political involvement of the Coptic Orthodox Church. In one post, Nazeer wrote that a gathering of activists at a Coptic church was inappropriate because churches were meant to be venues for prayer, not for politics.

According to Eid, Nazeer was arrested with the complicity of leaders in the Coptic Orthodox Church. In October of 2008, police detained Nazeer’s relatives at a police station and threatened to hold them until he came out of hiding. Nazeer turned himself into the police station on the advice of Bishop Kirollos of Nag Hammadi, Nazeer reported to his attorneys. Kirollos assured Nazeer he would be detained no more than four days and then be released.

Kirollos had denounced Nazeer to security, Nazeer told his attorneys.

All attempts to reach Kirollos about his alleged involvement in Nazeer’s arrest were unsuccessful. Several attempts to reach Bishop Anba Yoannes, authorized to speak about the case on behalf of the Coptic Orthodox Church’s Pope Shenouda III, were also unsuccessful. Egypt’s SSI, a political police force run by the Interior minister, routinely declines to comment on cases.

This week’s application will be sent to a court within the Ministry of the Interior. But under the emergency law, police officials have the power to ignore court orders. When local police execute a court order to release prisoners held under Egypt’s emergency law, security police commonly re-arrest them minutes later.

The law, enacted after the 1981 assassination of President Anwar Sadat, allows authorities to hold people without charge. Eid estimated that there are approximately 14,000 people imprisoned under this law. In 2005, while running for re-election, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak promised to replace the contested law. But in May of 2008, the Egyptian government extended the law for two more years.

Mamdouh Nakhla, an attorney and civil rights activist in Egypt, said oppression of Coptic Christians is common and that many police officers in Egypt are the “agents of persecution.” At best, he said, they are complicit in acts of persecution. At worst, he added, police collude with others hostile to Christianity.



“They give green lights to Islamists, and protect them, and give them the feeling that they are immune from prosecution,” he said.

One of the news stories making the rounds, now, is that someone has ruthlessly killed 13 soldiers, and injured 30 soldiers, at Ft. Hood, in Texas. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33678801/ns/us_news-crime_and_courts/ So what, you may say. After all, crazed gunmen kill people all over the world. Look at John Mohammad (to be executed in a few days for the “Beltway Sniper” murders.) Oh, I can’t say that, because he was a convert to Islam.

Well, what about these senseless murders? Well, the murderer is, reportedly, a MUSLIM! Surprise! Surprise! Oh, Gee. The brutal, heartless murderer was, reportedly, Major Malik Nadal Hasan, a recent convert to Islam, Major Malik Nadal Hasan.

For many years, we have been told about the treachery of Muslims in our military, and other defense industries. We have also been told about the treachery of Muslims in all respects. They are obliged, by Islam, to follow the teachings of the 7th century, insane, epileptic, barbarian, pedophile, named Mohammad. They are commanded to take over the world, and convert all non-Muslims to Islam, or turn them into Dimmi’s, or kill them. But, we don’t learn. We not only coddle them, but now, we are talking about arming Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. And, Turkey has broken with the West, stating that they are a Muslim nation, and they are aligned with the likes of Iran. How stupid was it of the West to provide modern weapons to Turkey? How stupid was it to allow Turkey to join NATO? Anything more advanced than a Piper Cub should have been banned. But, we are so incredibly stupid, and never learn. Now, they are, again, turning our “good will” against us. We are actually talking about giving advanced weapons systems to Pakistan!! The very same Pakistan that is about to be taken over by the Taliban.

Well, lets think. The Taliban takes over Pakistan. They make Osama bin Laden President. They have nukes. We cannot, then, assassinate bin Laden, since he would now be a head of state!! Now, I know this may seem incredible, but look at what is happening in Pakistan, and tell me that there is no chance for the Taliban (known as al Qaeda) to take over the country!. I think it is very real, and very near.

Muslims should be banned from military service in the USA, since they must swear allegiance to Islam, not the USA. Furthermore, they are obliged to kill as many Americans as they can. How can the country allow these 7th century Cretans to be in the military, or the government, for that matter? We need to banish them from all branches of the government.

How stupid is our country? How stupid is our government?

Ban Islam in the USA, or we will follow Eurabia,and places like Londonistan, into a living hell.

Tragedy Strikes Fort Hood

The Fort Hood killings, perpetrated by Major Malik Nadal Hasan, if indeed they have any link to ideology, will be the single largest terror attack in America since 9/11.

This quantitative finding will take into consideration dramatic change in the data released by authorities.

The shooting inside a U.S. military installation that led to the killing of many personnel compels us to ponder. Over the past few years and months authorities have stopped attempts on similar attacks. The Fort Dix jihadi plot, dismantled in 2006, aimed at performing a killing of military personnel inside the base.

Other cells, dismantled in Georgia, New York, and North Carolina also had plans for attacking military installations on U.S. soil. But more importantly a number of lone wolves have also expressed intentions to attack military personnel.

This year, Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, 23, shot two U.S. military personnel at the Army-Navy Career Center in a shopping center in west Little Rock, killing one.

In cyberspace jihadi threats against the U.S. military in the homeland and against American cities has been ongoing. Information collected by authorities, including from suspects and indicted individuals, has shown a pattern by the jihadists (militants or propagandists) indicating their intentions to strike at military and security installations.

The incident at Fort Hood, whatever the personal motive, falls in the category of demonization of the U.S. and its military. Meaning, whatever were the causes of the individual aggression, the latter was legitimized by the perception that America is the "enemy."

Investigation will show quickly if the motives are strictly personal or ideological, or a hybrid set of motives.

All depends on the early investigation made available to the public. According to retired Col. Terry Lee, who was interviewed by Fox News and who knew Hasan, Hasan made several statements indicating his ideological attitude including: “The killing of the soldier in Arkansas and any attack against U.S. military inside the homeland is legitimate because of American military involvement in the Middle East.”

Lee detailed remarks made by the killer “against U.S. policy and in support of potential suicide attacks inside the country.” Obviously, these statements by former Lee need to be analyzed and verified.

While waiting for these investigations to be released, analytical projection based on the historical context, on the specific circumstances of engagement between the jihadist propaganda and the United States for the past eight years and the type of attack involving an individual in the military leaves us, at this point, with the projection that the ideological factor is part of the motives leading to the shooting.

Psychological factors are to be looked at seriously but the ideological component, legitimacy of attacking the U.S. military, needs also to be investigated: For the latter element was the alibi fueling the psychological factor, if indeed that was the case.

If ideological, what the world has seen cannot be described just as a “horrific outburst of violence” performed on American military; rather is part of an ideological war, generated by radicalization, and inciting individuals to perform such acts.

Lone wolf or not, organized or not, fully self aware perpetrator or not, influenced by overseas or not, this massacre of servicemen has moved America from stage to another.
