We have received reports from around the world from groups planning to participate in the Saturday event. These groups are in America, in Florida, Georgia, Michigan, California, Texas, Ohio, Maine, Idaho and Pennsylvania. We have also heard from groups in New Delhi, India, in the Phillipines, in Germany, Romania, and in other locations around Europe.

Together we are demanding the release of the Christian Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani from Iranian prison. If he has not been released we will protest his imprisonment, and the cowardliness and political correctness of world leaders concerning Islam's 1400 year history of violence, murder, rape and destruction that continues today, with a World Wide Burning of Korans and Images of the Prophet Mohammad at 5pm ET, Saturday April 28th.

Pentagon urges controversial Florida pastor to stop Qu'ran burning plans

US officials fear Terry Jones's plan would compromise safety of American troops in Afghanistan and sour relations with Kabul
Florida pastor Terry Jones

The Pentagon is appealing to Florida pastor Terry Jones against repeating last year's burning of the Qur'ran and images of Muhammad that led to widespread rioting and deaths round the world.
US officials are monitoring the situation and the military is fearful for the lives of American soldiers in Afghanistan and elsewhere if Jones goes ahead with his plan, announced on his website, to set fire to the Qur'an next week.
Jones, pastor of the Dove World Outreach Centre in Gainesville, Florida and self-appointed scourge of Islam, has set a deadline of 5pm on Saturday April 28 for his demands to be met for the release of a Christian religious leader in Iran.
If the Iranian cleric Youcef Nadarkhani is still imprisoned, Jones says he will set fire to a Qur'n and multiple images of Muhammad.
The threat from Jones comes on top of a row over the publication this week by the Los Angeles Times of pictures showing US troops with dismembered bodies in Afghanistan in 2010 and the apparently accidental burning of Qur'ans and Islamic religious documents by US troops at Bagram airport in Afghanistan in February that left 41 dead and more than 200 injured.
The last time Jones organised such a spectacle was on March 20 last year when he burned a Qur'an dressed in a judicial robe in the grounds of his church. The act prompted attacks on a UN compound in Mazar-e-Sharif in Afghanistan in which seven UN employees died, and there were other fatal protests around the region.
Asked by the Guardian whether the cost in terms of lives lost of his previous escapade did not make him pause, Jones said that the impact of his Qur'an burning was not his responsibility. "What happened last time and what could happen this time is not our responsibility. All we did was burn a book. It posed no threat to anyone else, yet riots broke out several thousand miles away – which just proves how extreme Islam is."
However, Jones said that the loss of made it more difficult to repeat the exercise. "That's why we have been in contact on a daily basis with the Iranian embassy and religious leaders to see if we could get some dialogue going given the severity of what could happen."
Commander Bill Speaks, a Pentagon spokesman, told the Guardian: "We are aware of Pastor Terry Jones' threat to burn a Qur'an, and are monitoring the situation. The last time Pastor Jones burned a Qur'an, back in March of 2011, more than 16 people died and more than 90 people were injured from the resulting protests. We hope Pastor Jones will take into account the safety and welfare of deployed US military personnel before engaging in such an activity again."
In the run-up to his March 2011 burning, there were numerous interventions of senior US officials, right up to Barack Obama, secretary of state Hillary Clinton and the then defence secretary, Robert Gates, who phoned Jones in person. So far this time, Jones said, he has yet to be contacted by any official figure.
This year has already been disastrous for relations between Afghans and US forces, and there are certain to be protests if Jones does burn the Qur'an, although authorities will be alert to possible violence after deadly demonstrations in February.
Afghans took to the streets over the burning of copies of the Qur'an by US troops at a major US airbase. Around 30 Afghans died, and during a week of rioting six US troops were also killed by Afghan forces they served with.
Afghanistan is a conservative and deeply religious country, where outrage at desecration of Islam's holy book transcends boundaries of ideology, wealth and education, and there is little understanding of the legal constraints on authorities in America.
Afghans want the American government to prevent Jones from going ahead.
Sayed Hussani Balkhi, a Kabul member of parliament, said: "Burning the holy book is a big sin. This action has to be condemned by the international community. If this person doesn't stop and he burns the holy book again, then the patience of the Afghan people will end, so the result of that will be the ordinary people will join with the Taliban.
"And if the American people don't stop this person, then the people of Afghanistan will stand on their own feet against them."
Maulavi Mohammad Qalamuddin, deputy head of the virtue and vice ministry under the Taliban regime, said: "This person who is planning to burn the holy book in Florida is an ignorant person. He is crazy, like an animal. This man is going to make the Muslim people of Afghanistan emotional … It is the job of the American government to stop him and capture him."
There are also fears that if Jones does go ahead, his behaviour could be used as insurgent propaganda.
"Islam doesn't allow us to dishonour the Christian holy book, so it is the job of Christians to respect the holy Qur'an as well," said Jamshed Hashimi, a 45-year-old teacher at one of the private universities of Kabul. "It is the job of the Americans to stop this person, otherwise the militants, the insurgents will use this opportunity and the people will help them."
The Nato-led coaltion in Afghanistan referred comments to the US, and the office of President Hamid Karzai could not immediately be reached for comment

Arab-Israeli conflict, is only an old vengeance (tar) between the founder of Islam and Jewish population of Arabia.

Dear Sherif, God Bless your efforts and aid you. This issue is controvential and is a trap, we Copts got sucked into.

Dear Nader, since you asked, Here are my 2 cents on this sticky subjects:

First: with all due-respect to our religious leaders. I can accept advice or recommendation on non-religious/dogma matters, however I am upset to hear that "penalities" will be imposed on those who do not follow those recommendations. This approach sounds more Islamic to me, rather than Christian. Our God did not give power-of-attorney to any one to punish us, even if we comitt sins, let alone for an issue as trivial as this one. This is a sticky issue with lose-lose consequences. I pray that our religous leaders do not get sucked into it.

Second: at this important point in our history, and quest to stop ethnic cleansing against the Copts, we can not get distracted, or get divided because of the Arab-Israeli conflict (better described as Islamic hatred against the Jewish people). After all, Egypt has signed an offical peace agreement with Israel. Till Egypt cancels the agreement, and declares that it was only hodna or taqqeya, then we can open this discussion againNow, let us take few minutes to examine the root of the issue and cause of this controversy:

We all (Egyptians; Muslims and Christians, including our religous leaders) have been victims of falsified-history and brain-washing growing up in Egypt, and influenced by the Arab/Islamic ideology in our school systems and media. We were all fed with hatred toward Jews, Israel and Zionism. We were only taught one-side of the story/argument (period).
I have allways questioned, and wondered why most of the western Christians have the opposit point-of view toward the Palestinans issue than we do. Till few years ago, I was adamently supporting the Palestinan cause at the cost of the Israelis right to exisit and live safe inside their country, till I started examining the opposite point-of view, and after a visit to Israel and West Bank (yes, I did go there. I do not feel I did anything illegal, nor I comitted a sin). As a matter of fact west-bank Palistians (Muslims and Christians) are happy to see as many visitors as possible. Only Hamas, Iran and Fanatic muslims are upset because of these visits.

Simply put, I relized how wrong I was, and how badly I was brain-washed growing up in Egypt.

In my humble opinion, the so called Arab-Israeli conflict, is only an old vengeance (tar) between the founder of Islam and Jewish population of Arabia. The followers of Islam today have inherited this hatred, and blindly belive that they are obliged to protect Allah from his ultimate enemy; the Jews. Having a Palestinian state is not their ultimate goal. They do not even make a secret about their zeal to eliminate the Jews from Israel, and the whole earth.

I can go in more details in future eMails about this subject, if needed. I really do not want to hijack the discussion in a different direction, but please allow me to bring those 4 points quickly to stimulate your thoughts on this issue:
(1) Father Zakria Botros rsearch and program aired on Al HayatTV a couple of years ago on the true location of AL-Quds. (can any one help me to find the link to this program). It was aired shortly before Father Zakaria left Al Hayat TV.

(3) Think about what Golda Meyer said few decades ago:

" WE CAN HAVE PEACE WITH THE ARABS WHEN THEY START TO LOVE THEIR CHILDEREN MORE THAN THEY HATE US"

u visit Jesus' tomb which is under the governance of the Catholic Church, u r allowed to enter the room for 5 sec where the tomb is kept for display , u can pray , touch it.. take a picture... what ever u want but it is an indescribable moment. , however u can't see the inside because the marble casket is covered. However at the back, the Coptic church has a tiny room attached to the tomb, where u can buy gifts, better yet u can stick ur hand in a hole into the ground inside Jesus' tomb. It is the only opening where u can actually put ur hand inside Jesus' tomb. There r some Coptic monks running it 24/7 and some civilian copts participating every Friday night in the precession. The adjacent Coptic small church is collecting dust.. and in a shameful state. If u want to see the African monastery which is part of the church,.. u will be disappointed because it is just huts similar to (eshet ferakh very dusty as well)..it is actually an eye sore like our neglected tiny church.

The place is under heavy Israeli army presence

However u will not miss seeing an islamic dareeh in the Church's yard, also if u visit next David's tomb!!!!

All churches r in immaculate state, either supervised by Italian or French Catholic. The sol church In Beit Lahem which run by the Palestinians is not in a better shape than the African huts.

to Sherif, naderf, copts

We used Air Sinai since El All stopped its flights. The flight was over booked!!!..and I was told I cannot fly,.. although we booked our ticket a month earlier. All women were in head cover, the service was miserable we had to pay $200 to an Egyptian manager who had a fit because we had a couple of none alcoholic wine we bought from El Galil which Israeli security helped up to wrap in special plastic and put in our luggage... It is not difficult at all to notice the difference between the young friendly and helpful Israeli security staff.. and the grumpy unfriendly, thief, narrow minded Egyptian.

My advice do not fly from Israel to Cairo unless u use an Israeli airline.

The relation between Egypt and Israel.

In reality, Egypt has signed a peace treaty that includes the complete normalization of the relation between Egypt and Israel.

Israel never reneged, breached in any element of the peace treaty

Never burned or destroyed the Egyptian Embassy in Israel as the Egyptian apathy did ( and got rewarded by Esaam Sharaf

the Egyptian PM last year !! )

Amr Mousa is a personal friend of Shimon Perez, so is Mostafa Khalil ( former PM of Egypt ) and also the military council.

In my opinion; the new Pope should ignore the subject totally and not making any comment;

deflect any question from the Egyptian media.

This issue is entirely ritual; religious issue that is merely personal for a person, group to do or not to do.

This is not a political issue. It does not mean support or non support for Israel.

Otherwise why did Copts visit Jerusalem before 67 war ?

In the Arab perception there is no Israel that should exist to begin with !!!!

IPT Exclusive: State Department Barred Inspection of Muslim Brotherhood Delegation

by Steven Emerson
IPT News
April 9, 2012

The State Department broke with normal procedures last week when it ordered the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) not to conduct a secondary inspection on members of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) on their way to visit government officials and think tanks in the United States.

This happened despite the fact that one member of the delegation had been implicated – though not charged – in a U.S. child pornography investigation, the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT) has learned.

According to senior enforcement sources and documents reviewed by the IPT, investigators had information tying Abdul Mawgoud Dardery to the pornography investigation that was based in Pennsylvania. He was the senior member in the four-person FJP delegation which held court with academic groups and met with senior officials at the White House and State Department last week. (For more on what they said, click here.)

The FJP recently won a plurality of seats in recent elections to determine makeup of the next Egyptian Parliament.

Before returning to Egypt, Dardery lived in the United States long enough to attain legal permanent residency, known as a green card. That status lapsed after he left the country for more than six months. The child pornography investigation took place during Dardery's time here and was noted in his immigration file. It surfaced when CBP officials learned of his pending visit.

A U.S. official familiar with immigration procedures told the IPT that extra inspection is standard operating procedure when a foreign visitor has been tied to criminal or terrorist activities. "Secondary inspections" involve going through the visitor's baggage and viewing the contents of computers and other electronic devices to search for evidence of illicit activity. Agents would typically search other members of the party to ensure Dardery did not hand off his computer equipment to an associate to avoid detection.

In addition, the Brotherhood's relationship with the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas would have triggered extra scrutiny for the incoming delegation. But that "secondary inspection" never happened, a law enforcement source said. The State Department ordered CBP not to do it.

The State Department issued a cable specifically barring Customs officials from carrying out any inspections of Dardery and the other members of the delegation on their arrival at New York's John F. Kennedy Airport. The immigration official described this action by the State Department as "extraordinary."

Beyond the State Department's prohibition on conducting extra scrutiny of Dardery and members of his delegation, the State Department barred US Customs officials from carrying out even the standard inspection mandated for foreigners arriving from Egypt, where an enhanced security program is in place as a result of the 9-11 attacks.

The Muslim Brotherhood was founded in Egypt in 1928 with the goal of establishing a worldwide Islamic state through jihad and martyrdom. The group is considered the parent of all Sunni terrorist groups, including Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

do Copts look just like ancient Egyptians? Absolutely

EgyptianG, Meriam George, Morris Sadek and the Patriarch of Alexandria.

Do Copts look just like ancient Egyptians? Absolutely! egyptsearch.com
The modern Copts have been genetically isolated for 1400 years, due to the religious apartheid that prevailed in Islamic Egypt. For all that time Copts could only intermarry with other Egyptian Christians if they wished their children to be Christians. Despite this fact, the Copts do not have a homogenous look. Do Copts look just like ancient Egyptians? Absolutely!

EgyptianG, Meriam George, Morris Sadek and the Patriarch of Alexandria.
Although not homogenous, some general points hold true. The darkest Copt looks sufficiently different from a black African to make the Afrocentrists claims on Egypt seem nonsensical, even if they could not be called white either. Copts don't tend to have fleshy lips, wide, high-arched nostrils, flat nasal bridges or projecting lower-faces, which are all classic features of black African populations. Their noses tend to be bulbous, rather than broad. They tend to have straight, wavy or curly hair, but not frizzy. They may have some Nilotic ancestry (as all human beings apparently do) but negroid traces in them are slight at best.
