Building Churches in Egypt and the Ground Zero Mosque

AINA) By Mary Abdelmassih

Egyptians, Muslims and Christians alike, are closely watching the controversy associated with the Ground Zero Mosque project, though for different reasons. The Egyptian media is giving this issue full coverage with articles mostly accusing Americans of Islamophobia, and supporting Muslims to hold on to their rights to build a mosque anywhere as guaranteed by the US constitution, regardless of what Americans think.
On the other hand, some influential Muslims rejected the idea of a Mosque near Ground Zero only on grounds that it would backfire on Islam, by connecting it to the 9/11 events. Dr. AbdelMotey Bayoumi, a member of Al Azhar's Islamic Research Academy, believes it could be a "Zionist conspiracy" to harm Islam.

American-Egyptian Copts were also accused of organizing the rally which is to be staged on 9/11 with Geert Wilders, reported the Egyptian daily "youm7" on August 20, 2010.

"I cannot believe the double standards of the Egyptian Muslims," commented Coptic activist Magdy Guindi. "It is obvious that Americans don't approve of this Mosque being near Ground Zero. Is this not one of the conditions applied to church building in Egypt?"

Much of the on-going sectarian strife in Egypt is related to the ability to build churches. Unlike Muslim citizens, who only need a municipal license to build mosques, the Copts require presidential approval for a church, based on the 1856 Ottoman Hamayoni Decree, in addition to ten humiliating conditions laid down by the Ezaby Pasha Decree of 1934, before being considered for a presidential decree. These include the approval of the neighboring Muslim community.

"Muslim clerics and Islamists easily persuade Muslims that a church is equivalent to slandering Islam, so they take advantage of this "Muslim approval" condition," said Guindi.

Even after obtaining licenses for a church, Muslims still attack Christians and demolish or burn their churches (AINA 7-12-2009). A rumor that Christians are meeting to pray is enough reason for Muslim neighbors to carry out acts of violence against them (AINA 8-21-2009). On various occasions, it only takes Muslims to protest against the building of a church for State Security to stop the works, under the pretext that it is causing "sectarian strife."

In 2005 President Mubarak issued a decree, which delegated authority to the country's 26 governors to grant permits to Christians to expand or rebuild existing churches. Instead of making matters easier, many local officials intentionally delay or refuse to process applications without "supporting documents" that are virtually impossible to obtain. State Security often block them from using permits that have been issued on "security concerns."

Last month a problem arose between the Governor of Minya and Anba Agathon, the Bishop of the diocese of Maghagha and Edwah, which is still unresolved, despite mediation efforts by Coptic Pope Shenouda III.

The Governor suddenly suspended the license obtained for the renewal of the 1934 diocese in Maghagha, including the church, after it was demolished, as agreed with the governor. The pretext for the suspension was because the 45 square meters of rooms where the Bishop lives were not demolished as well. Although the Bishop confirmed that the governor agreed verbally to the Bishop staying in his dwelling until new rooms are built on the new site, the governor now insists that the Bishop "should find somewhere else to sleep."

Since March 16, 2010, after the demolition of the old church, the Bishop and the congregation have been celebrating mass in a linen tent erected on the courtyard where the new church is planned, under the summer heat exceeding 45C. The Diocese of Maghagha serves 250,000 Copts.

Realizing that the governor has tricked them into getting them to demolished the old church first, Bishop Agathon, 75 clergy and nearly 150,000 Copts from parishes all over the Diocese of Maghagha and Edwah have staged a three day sit-in in Maghagha tent church from July 25, 2010, protesting against the intransigence of the Governor of Minya. They wanted to travel to Cairo to continue their sit-in at the Coptic Patriarchate in Cairo, after presenting a petition signed by 160,000 Copts from the Diocese to President Mubarak. It was reported that the Pope, who was undergoing medical treatment in the U.S., asked the Bishop to wait until his return.

Most Copts interviewed on the issue of the Ground Zero Mosque thought that even if Moslems had the right to build a mosque, it should be somewhere else, to save the victims families any pain. Others thought the Muslim attitude was typical "They go to a country and want to take it over, making the best of democratic rights to their advantage, but when it comes to Islamic countries, matters are different, and they forget about the rights of others," commented one young Coptic girl.

"Let Muslims experience the rage and frustration we have been going through for centuries, every time we want to build or repair a dilapidating church in our own country," commented Coptic activist Mina Hanna, in what sounded like Schadenfreude. "It would be interesting to see what happens if the West decided to treat Muslims like Christians in Egypt."

The struggle against jihad

Written by Tarek Fatah and Salma Siddiqui
Ottawa Citizen

While Muslim parents pack public meetings with pronouncements that 'Islam is a religion of peace,' their sons and daughters are being taught something else

Relatives and supporters of men charged with planning terrorist attacks in
the Toronto area arrive for a bail hearing in 2006. Community leaders often
decry bad 'behaviour' and denounce 'terrorism,' but fail to take on the jihadist
ideology that is poisoning Muslim youth

No sooner did news of the Ottawa Terror Plot unfold on national TV, than one could predict the response of Canada's Islamists and their organizations.

Across Canada, apologists of the terror suspects repeated the same mantra. The three men arrested were portrayed as "innocent" and the wider Muslim community was positioned as the real victims of the episode. It was as if the Islamist leadership had dusted off the speaking notes from the days of the Toronto 18 trials when leader after leader stood up to claim the young men arrested were framed, not real terrorists.

As Muslim Canadians, both of us, while asking for the due judicial process to take its course, had no hesitation in condemning the rising tide of jihadi radicalism that is sweeping like a contagious disease among Muslim youth, especially of Pakistani ancestry, across Canada. However, by and large the leadership of traditional Islamist organizations and the mosque establishment repeated the now tired and cliché-ridden depiction of Muslims as the real victims.

Not a single imam that we have heard has mustered the courage to say, "The doctrine of armed jihad is defunct and inapplicable in the 21st century." Instead the same tired old clichés were repeated about Islam being a religion of peace and denouncing terrorism, while keeping mum about jihad.

Saira Rahman, a filmmaker, told the Winnipeg Free Press, "It's so very frustrating. It's very unfair -- you're demonizing communities again and creating a situation where everyone's guilty till proven innocent." She was not alone in being in denial.

From Ottawa, the epicentre of the latest terror threat, Nazira Tareen of the Ottawa Muslim Women's Organization wrote, "99.9 per cent of them (Muslims) are law abiding, hardworking, peace loving, caring and contributing citizens of Canada. ... I personally know all the imams of all the mosques in the Nation's Capital Region and all of them are totally against this type of behaviour. We are unanimous in condemning this type of behaviour." Again condemning "behaviour," but has nothing useful to say about the underlying jihadi ideology.

Obviously Tareen was not aware of the Environics Poll of 2007 that found 12 per cent of Canada's Muslims having a favourable disposition towards the Toronto 18 terrorists and 14 per cent who identified themselves with "extremists" within the Muslim community.

This means there could be as many as 100,000 Muslim Canadians who are hostile to Canada and western civilization. A scary number by any measure.

If individual Muslim Canadians were pushing the victimhood agenda, their organizations were doing no better. The Canadian Islamic Congress, which supported the introduction of Shariah law in Canada, issued a statement saying:

"Canadian Muslims, more than other citizens, are deeply concerned and disturbed ... especially about the psychological, social and emotional impact of these arrests on the wellbeing of Canadian Muslims." One was left scratching one's head: What about non-Muslim Canadians who were allegedly the real targets of these suspected terrorists? The CIC statement went further. It expressed concern about "how these arrests would be managed in Canada and what kind of impact the media reports will have on Canadian citizens of Muslim faith." Added to the spin was the accusation of journalistic "sensationalism, prejudgment, or speculation."

Unfortunately, the Muslim victimhood agenda was helped by the leader of the Liberal Party, Michael Ignatieff, who stepped into the fray by claiming that the terror suspects need to be treated as innocent. He then made this outrageous remark: "It's important for Canadians to realize in the Toronto case, the courts acquitted many people."

Not true, Mr. Ignatieff. While charges were dropped in some cases, not a single member of the Toronto terror plot tried by the courts was acquitted. Everyone who was tried before the court was either convicted or confessed. As card-carrying Liberals, we were shocked to read how our leader was buying in to the Islamist agenda.

The Ottawa arrests have links to a Montreal Mosque, another hotbed of Islamist activity. Two of the suspects attended the Islamic Community Centre Mosque in Brossard. At the mosque too the men in charge were on the defensive, claiming no knowledge of any extremist activity.

Faisal Shahabuddin, a member of the mosque's board when asked to explain how two members of the congregation had allegedly gotten themselves involved in the terror plot, stated, "Why should I explain if we don't know it's true?"

However, this Montreal suburban mosque has had a history of Islamist activity. In September 2005, the leadership of the same mosque targeted fellow Muslim Fatima Houda-Pepin, member of the Quebec National Assembly, because she had dared to oppose Shariah law and was instrumental in moving a unanimous resolution against introducing Islamic law in Quebec.

She was intimidated and told the congregation would work to defeat her in the next elections. She won hands down. Responding to the bullying by the mosque, Fatima Houda-Pepin said, "We must not underestimate the threat posed by fundamentalists on women and the justice system."

Muslims of Ottawa are not new to the involvement of their sons in terrorism. Most are aware of the conviction of Momin Khawaja, yet continue to treat him as a victim and martyr.

The jihad that Momin Khawaja talked about in his musings is the armed jihad of warfare as clearly enunciated by such 20th-century Islamists of the Muslim Brotherhood as Syed Qutb and Hassan al-Banna and Pakistan's Syed Maudoodi. It is this triad who are the ideological gurus of the world Islamist movements whose works are fanning the flames of armed jihad around the world.

As you read this column, young Islamists in campuses across Canada are distributing free booklets titled Towards Understanding Islam, written by Maudoodi. In the booklet, Maudoodi exhorts ordinary Muslims to launch jihad, as in armed struggle, against non-Muslims.

"Jihad is part of this overall defence of Islam," he writes. In case the reader is left with any doubt about the meaning of the word "jihad," Maudoodi clarifies: "In the language of the Divine Law, this word (jihad) is used specifically for the war that is waged solely in the name of God against those who perpetrate oppression as enemies of Islam. This supreme sacrifice is the responsibility of all Muslims."

Maudoodi goes on to label Muslims who refuse the call to armed jihad as apostates:

"Jihad is as much a primary duty as are daily prayers or fasting. One who avoids it is a sinner. His every claim to being a Muslim is doubtful. He is plainly a hypocrite who fails in the test of sincerity and all his acts of worship are a sham, a worthless, hollow show of deception." If Muslim countries do not go to war against the enemies of Islam, Maudoodi says a worldwide uprising by ordinary Muslims is the answer. He writes: "Muslims of the whole world must fight the common enemy."

If Maudoodi's exhortations to jihad are not enough, we have the words of the late Hassan al-Banna being distributed in our schools and universities. Al-Banna makes it quite clear that the word "jihad" means armed conflict. He mocks those who claim jihad is merely an internal struggle; al-Banna says this redefinition of the term "jihad" is a conspiracy so that "Muslims should become negligent."

While their parents pack public meetings with pronouncements that "Islam is a religion of peace," their sons and daughters are being taught something else.

Here is what Qutb, another Egyptian stalwart of the Islamist movement and the Muslim Brotherhood, writes in his seminal work on Islam and its relationship with the West, Milestones:

"Any place where Islamic Shariah is not enforced and where Islam is not dominant becomes the Home of Hostility (Dar-ul-Harb or the West). ... A Muslim will remain prepared to fight against it, whether it be his birthplace or a place where his relatives reside or where his property or any other material interests are located."

Unless the leaders of Canadian mosques as well as the Islamic organizations denounce the doctrine of jihad as pronounced by the Muslim Brotherhood, and distance themselves from the ideology of Qutb, al-Banna and Maudoodi, their chant that "Islam means peace" will fall on deaf ears.

It will merely reinforce the suspicions of many Canadians who feel some overseas groups are pulling the strings in this carefully staged puppet show.

Is 'Ground Zero mosque' debate fanning the flames?

Written by Finlo Rohrer

Pamela Geller Blogger: The callousness showed to the grief and the pain caused is ridiculously intolerant”

Protesters say the mosque is insensitive

There has been vehement criticism of a Muslim group's plan to build a cultural centre and mosque near Ground Zero, but what does the tone of the debate reveal?

Some opponents of the Cordoba House project, the Islamic cultural centre and mosque planned near to the World Trade Center site, have coined jarring juxtapositions to press their point.

"Nazis don't have the right to put up a sign next to the Holocaust museum in Washington," former US House Speaker Newt Gingrich said. "We would never accept the Japanese putting up a site next to Pearl Harbor. There is no reason for us to accept a mosque next to the World Trade Center."

Radio presenter Rush Limbaugh compared the mosque with the idea of putting a Hindu shrine at the USS Arizona memorial at Pearl Harbor, later correcting himself to make clear he meant a Shinto shrine.

Those behind the Cordoba House project, such as Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, say they want to build something which would assist inter-faith understanding. But some are worried about knock on effects of the debate over the mosque on relations.

"It has exposed a very nasty streak in our society," says Ibrahim Hooper, of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

Eric Boehlert, senior fellow at Media Matters for America, a group which monitors conservative media, says he counted 1,600 references to "mosque" last week across national US cable news networks - a number that reflects the growing scale of the controversy.

The battles are not just limited to Ground Zero. A plan to turn a former convent in Staten Island, New York, into a mosque generated opposition.

In southern California, plans for a mosque near two churches in Temecula Valley have seen activists picket a Muslim site. Another row is rumbling on in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.

"There has just been this eruption of Muslim bashing and Islamophobia," says Mr Boehlert. "It is nothing to do with any serious debate about Ground Zero and what is or isn't appropriate."

Some opponents have implied there could be unfortunate consequences if the Cordoba House plan goes ahead.

Pundit Dick Morris has linked the centre to Muslim religious law - sharia - and to terrorism.

"We're establishing literally a command centre for terrorism right at the 9/11 site," he said.

Rival protests have been held at the site

'Burn a Koran'
Perhaps the most radical opposition reported so far has been from Pastor Terry Jones at the non-denominational Dove World Outreach Centre in Gainesville, Florida.

The pastor gained notoriety recently when he announced that he would be organising a burning of copies of the Koran on 11 September. He disputes the commonly-accepted notion that violent extremists make up only a tiny proportion of Muslims.

"Islam does what Islam teaches," he says.

"What we are trying to do is to send a very clear message to radical Islam that this type of action and the action of Sharia courts is not welcome in America."

His campaign and the call of activists against the Temecula mosque to picket a Muslim site accompanied by dogs - which many Muslims think ritually "unclean" - have sparked concern.

But there are many who say that opposition to the New York mosque is rational and reasonable. They believe that while the legal right to build a religious building anywhere is clear, those behind it should not go ahead because it will upset people and offend sensitivities.

Bloggers have drawn parallels between the mosque row and the controversy over a Catholic convent at Auschwitz.

House Minority Leader John Boehner summed it up, saying: "Just because they have the right to do something doesn't mean it is the right thing to do."

That is also the position of Pamela Geller, one of the bloggers who have been highlighting the Cordoba House project for some time.

Prof Akbar Ahmed, author of Journey into America: The Challenge of Islam, has travelled the country examining attitudes to Muslims, and believes this is a difficult period.

"America is going through this extraordinary phase. Everyone feels under siege," he told the BBC.

"We really felt that we were sitting on a tinder box. We needed one catalyst for things to get really bad. The New York mosque could just be that."

With Eid falling close to 11 September this year, some Muslim groups in the US have even gone as far as to warn members to be careful when celebrating the festival, which marks the end of Ramadan.

Akbar Ahmed believes Muslims do have to anticipate sensitivities.

"Muslims absolutely have the right to build a mosque like any house of worship but they need also to be much more sensitive to the culture and society in which they are living."

Ethiopian Refugees face the danger of death in the Egyptian prisons

Ethiopian Refugees face the danger of death in the Egyptian prisons

The Africans refugees that have been held in Central Security Camp in Al Shalal in Aswan in Egypt, have been seized for more than two and half years without any legal or moral justification and under terrible and inhumane conditions, in addition to their deteriorating inhumane mental and physical conditions.

Every time I receive a phone call from one of them, I hear nothing except crying and screaming of their children wondering and asking " Why do you treat us in such inhumane way. We are Africans like you. Isn't Egypt the leader of Africans.?! Do not we drink from the same Nile?! Unfortunately I have no response to them except that I will do my best and I will contact the officials to resolve this problem and speed up the process. But who would care, who would really sympathy with their situation. It seems that the hearts of the officials became so hard like a stone and the cruelty and selfishness have been sneaked to the hearts , all what they say:, " We have enough problems, we do not need to add more." Nevertheless, there are some peace lovers who help those people from their own needs. (If you want to have mercy from God, have mercy whom on Earth and the One above will have mercy on you.)

The tragedy began, when a huge number of Africans escaped from the affected areas in continental l of Africa like Ethiopia, Eretria & Somalia to Egypt due the hell of the civil & tribal wars, in addition to the economic crises and famine that they were suffering from. Often those people would pay the price of fighting for power and domination. Small numbers entered Egypt in February 2008 from Sudan-Egypt border as Sudan forcibly removed them by placing them in huge trucks in the middle of the night to bring them back to their countries, due that action they immediately fled to Egypt leaving everything behind them, even though they had refugees status from the High Commission of Refugees and they were getting benefits, they refused to go back to their country as they are afraid that they would get executed or arrested and torture in camps, or to go back to poverty and wars. The majority of them were in the army and the rest were working as provincial governor, pilot, doctor, journalist, interior designer, a priest and students in public & American universities.
The flow of numbers continued, until reached approx. 1750 refugees. 70% from them from Eretria, 25% from Ethiopia and 5% from Somalia. 58% from them are men and from youth, 30% from them are women (including pregnant women) & girls, 12% are children (from infancy to 3-6 years old). 75 % of these refugees are Christian Orthodox, 20% are Muslims 5% of different religions.
Due to the large influx large numbers , the police departments forced & packed them in places, where they place around fifty refugees in 5 x 3 meters rooms, and some of them had to sleep in the bathrooms with no sufficient ventilation; only small openings that do not exceed 30 X 30 cm, no ceiling fans. You could imagine what would be the heat in Upper Egypt during the summer & to live in such tiny room with so many people and with such high temperature.

The Egyptian Interior Ministry, under the instructions of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, deported forcibly nearly 1600 refugees from Hurghada, Burj Al Arab, Aswan and Qena, without considering the threat which they will face; the execution. This is against Article III, concerning Declaration on Territorial Asylum Convention for the Protection of Refugees agreement according to Paragraph 1 states that it is not allowed to prevent any person, that was appointed in the Paragraph 1, Artical 1,to enter the any borders or if the person entered the region/territory seeking asylum, the country has no right force him/her to go back to any country that he/she could face persecution.
Refugees have called me from Hurghada and asked me to bring a Sheikh from mosque immediately in order to read them, the prayer of the dead on them because they will be executed upon their return. According to the last phone call with them, they stated that their hands had been tied behind their back & they were deported without any of their belonging such as money & phones. I have not heard from them since they were forcibly deported on May 2008 till now. God have mercy on their souls.
But The rest were found in the Central Security camps Al Shalal in Aswan they are 135 refugees (101 men & young men - 28 women and young women - 7 children from 3:10 years). They are Eritrean and Ethiopian. The majority,105 refugees, have been deported after so many trials to Canada, the rest to America and the remaining 30 refugees. Twenty two of them asked to return to their country rather than being imprisoned in Egypt for infinity.

The remaining of the refugees which is the subject of the report, who are still suffering until today from arbitrary detention without any justification, although in April 2008 the sentence of judiciary was one month with suspension. They have already protested with no food for 5 days due the duration of the detention and the cruelty, neglect of their physical health & cruelty.
And the names of the detained refugees in Aswan as follows: - (Sorry for the difficulty of writing and pronunciation of Amharic names)

1 - Husband - Skhalay Gebre Schly 41 years old Ethiopian Christian Orthodox (Department of Mahmudiyah)
2 - Wife - Zewdie Tula Waldth 35 years old Ethiopian Christian Orthodox (Camp Al Shalal)
3 - Child - Fard Skhalay Gebry 10 years, Male , Ethiopian Christian Orthodox (Camp Al Shalal)
4 - Child - Oombac Skhalay Gebrey 7 years , Male ,Ethiopian Christian Orthodox (Camp Al Shalal)
5 - Child - Thamsgenen Skhalay Gebry , 5 years, Male , Ethiopian Christian Orthodox(Camp Al Shalal)
6 - Siggsty , Female ,Ethiopian Christian Orthodox(Camp Al Shalal)
7 – Sabh , Male , Ethiopian Christian Orthodox (Department of Mahmudiyah)
8 - Abdel Kader , Male , Ethiopian Muslim (Department of Mahmudiyah)

They are in need of medical attention mentally & physically as they were highly infected with skin diseases, chest diseases and bed ulcers of the long period of detention, in addition that they have no clothes to change. They are in bad need for milk, soap, and the fans to cool down the hot weatherof Aswan.
And unfortunately the Security Directorate of Aswan did not allow us to visit them to fulfill their humanitarian & psychological needs and to provide them with clothing, underwear and cleanliness accessories. like what used to be done with the refugees previously with ex-security director of Aswan, despite the difficulty of dealing with him. Unfortunately the existing security director is rested by banning us from their visits after many telephone calls. We have sent so three official correspondence after he requested from us to do so, but he did not respond at all up to this moment, which is a proof of misusing his power and against to the Protocol of the Status of Refugees which emphasise the importance of the coordination between the private organization whom are interested in helping the refugees.
Although the international agreements that is signed by Republic of Egypt declared that all the detained refugees are under the subject of the Law of the Protection of Refugees, Article 31 of the Refugees Affairs dated 28.07.1951 and the Protocol the Convention that was amended & signed in New York on 31/1/1967, leads to the issuance of two Presidential Decree No. 331 & 333 on 1980. This was approved on 22.05.1981, even if they entered illegally as a result of wars and famines.

islam &mouslm around The world

Annie Schwartz
Islam is not a religion, nor is it a cult. In its fullest form, it is a complete, total, 100% system of life. Islam has religious, legal, political, economic, social, and military components. The religious component is a beard for all of th......e .........other components. Islamization begins when there are sufficient Muslims in a country to agitate for their religious privileges.
When politically correct, tolerant, and culturally diverse societies
agree to Muslim demands for their religious privileges, some of the
other components tend to creep in as well.
Here's how it works:

As long as the Muslim population remains around or under 2% in any given
country, they will be for the most part be regarded as a peace-loving
minority, and not as a threat to other citizens. This is the case in:

United States -- Muslim 0.6%
Australia -- Muslim 1.5%
Canada -- Muslim 1.9%
China -- Muslim 1.8%
Italy -- Muslim 1.5%
Norway -- Muslim 1.8%

At 2% to 5%, they begin to proselytize from other ethnic minorities and
disaffected groups, often with major recruiting from the jails and among
street gangs. This is happening in:

Denmark -- Muslim 2%
Germany -- Muslim 3.7%
United Kingdom -- Muslim 2.7%
Spain -- Muslim 4%
Thailand -- Muslim 4.6%

From 5% on, they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their
percentage of the population. For example, they will push for the
introduction of halal (clean by Islamic standards) food, thereby
securing food preparation jobs for Muslims. They will increase pressure
on supermarket chains to feature halal on their shelves -- along with
threats for failure to comply. This is occurring in:

France -- Muslim 8%
Philippines -- 5%
Sweden -- Muslim 5%
Switzerland -- Muslim 4.3%
The Netherlands -- Muslim 5.5%
Trinidad & Tobago -- Muslim 5.8%

At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow them
to rule themselves (within their ghettos) under Sharia, the Islamic Law.
The ultimate goal of Islamists is to establish Sharia law over the
entire world.

When Muslims approach 10% of the population, they tend to increase
lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions. In Paris, we
are already seeing car-burnings. Any non-Muslim action offends Islam and
results in uprisings and threats, such as in Amsterdam, with opposition
to Mohammed cartoons and films about Islam. Such tensions are seen
daily, particularly in Muslim sections in:

Guyana -- Muslim 10%
India -- Muslim 13.4%
Israel -- Muslim 16%
Kenya -- Muslim 10%
Russia -- Muslim 15%

After reaching 20%, nations can expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad
militia formations, sporadic killings, and the burnings of Christian
churches and Jewish synagogues, such as in:

Ethiopia -- Muslim 32.8%

At 40%, nations experience widespread massacres, chronic terror attacks,
and ongoing militia warfare, such as in:

Bosnia -- Muslim 40%
Chad -- Muslim 53.1%
Lebanon -- Muslim 59.7%

From 60%, nations experience unfettered persecution of non-believers of
all other religions (including non-conforming Muslims), sporadic ethnic
cleansing (genocide), use of Sharia Law as a weapon, and Jizya, the tax
placed on infidels, such as in:

Albania -- Muslim 70%
Malaysia -- Muslim 60.4%
Qatar -- Muslim 77.5%
Sudan -- Muslim 70%

After 80%, expect daily intimidation and violent jihad, some State-run
ethnic cleansing, and even some genocide, as these nations drive out the
infidels, and move toward 100% Muslim, such as has been experienced and
in some ways is on-going in:

Bangladesh -- Muslim 83%
Egypt -- Muslim 90%
Gaza -- Muslim 98.7%
Indonesia -- Muslim 86.1%
Iran -- Muslim 98%
Iraq -- Muslim 97%
Jordan -- Muslim 92%
Morocco -- Muslim 98.7%
Pakistan -- Muslim 97%
Palestine -- Muslim 99%
Syria -- Muslim 90%
Tajikistan -- Muslim 90%
Turkey -- Muslim 99.8%
United Arab Emirates -- Muslim 96%

100% will usher in the peace of 'Dar-es-Salaam' -- the Islamic House of
Peace. Here there's supposed to be peace, because everybody is a Muslim,
the Madrasses are the only schools, and the Koran is the only word, such
as in:

Afghanistan -- Muslim 100%
Saudi Arabia -- Muslim 100%
Somalia -- Muslim 100%
Yemen -- Muslim 100%

Unfortunately, peace is never achieved, as in these 100% states the most
radical Muslims intimidate and spew hatred, and satisfy their blood lust
by killing less radical Muslims, for a variety of reasons.See More

please help coptic school in Nashvillle& virgina

Dearly Beloved Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

we are currently among the top 20..... #17 !!!! VOTE TO BRING US

Listening to the wise words, prayers, and hopes of His Holiness Pope Shenouda, that there is a need to establish Orthodox Christian Schools in the diaspora, His Grace BishopYoussef and Abouna Boutros embarked on the project to establish one in Nashville, Tennessee.

St. Clement Orthodox Christian Academy, through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, was
established as the FIRST Coptic Orthodox Christian Academy in the United States.
It is only through the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that this project was brought to completion, opening its doors in August of 2001.
It was the prayer and wisdom of His Holiness, that the Egyptian immigrant would not forget their Orthodox Faith and roots, knowing that a school not only educates the child, but the whole family, as well as the surrounding community. It also serves as a tool of evangelization reaching out to the whole community, through special projects, serving the needs of everyone.

The school was first established to offer the Egyptian immigrants one steeped in Orthodox
Tradition, interwoven with a First Class Academic Curriculum.
"Christ is the educator who teaches and the teacher who educates." St. Clement of Alexandria
St. Clement Academy opens it doors WIDE to ALL people regardless of their socio-economic ability, faith, race, or ethnicity. St. Clement Academy strives to educate ALL who come....

For it sees the value of an Orthodox Christian education....for ALL.

St. Clement Academy is a faith community, that is rooted in Orthodox Christian convictions and values. We strive to create an atmosphere that enables the spiritual, academic, athletic and creative gifts of each child to develop to the fullest, prepared to meet the challenges of the 21st Century. We are committed to sharing the values Jesus modeled.

" As there is one mode of training for philosophers, another for orators, and another for athletes, so there is a generous disposition suitable to the choice that is set upon moral loveliness resulting from the training of Christ" St. Clement of Alexandria.

We are asking you to join us in receiving the blessing of allowing this miracle of God to continue to grow and expand to enrich and nourish the coming generations. You can do this by voting for St. Clement Christian Academy at the web site below.

Subject: Update about Kohls Facebook Contest

Dear St. Mark Family,

So far you have been doing a great job voting and spreading the word about this contest. As of this morning, we have received more than 7300 votes! That is an excellent start, but we’ll need more if we are going to contend with some of the larger schools out there. So if you haven’t yet voted 5 times for Good Shepherd Christian Academy, please do so now. Voting instructions are below. After you have voted, please remember to tell everyone you know to vote as well – we need to spread the word to as many people as we can – neighbors, colleagues, classmates, even your family back in Egypt. TELL EVERYONE!!!

Also, after you have voted for Good Shepherd Christian Academy, I would like to encourage you to also place 5 votes for another school, ST. CLEMENT COPTIC ORTHODOX CHRISTIAN ACADEMY. St. Clement Academy is the Coptic school being run by our sister church down in Nashville, TN. I recently spoke with their administrative office and we agreed that we would support one another’s schools [remember, the top 20 schools receive the prize; so both of us can win]. They have been kind and gracious enough to inform their supporters to vote for us; now it is time for us to repay the favor and vote for them as well. We are all One Body in Christ and therefore we hope that each of us would walk away with the prize from Kohls.

So go place 5 votes for GOOD SHEPHERD CHRISTIAN ACADEMY, and then go place another 5 votes for ST. CLEMENT COPTIC ORTHODOX CHRISTIAN ACADEMY. For voting instructions or more information about this contest and why it is so important, please see below…

And remember, this is your chance to make a difference. This is your chance to do something very small, but that will have a major impact on the ministry here and the lives of the many people who are touched by this ministry. This is your chance to give back.

Subject: God sending us a chance to win $500,000

Dear St. Mark Family,

Do you believe in miracles? Well I do and I believe that God may be sending us a chance to witness one right in front of our eyes. You all know the church’s financial need these days – especially with the upcoming construction and financing. God, who has promised never to leave us or abandon us, has put a great opportunity in front of us and we need your help to make it happen.

We have a chance to win $500,000 through a contest being held on Facebook by the store Kohls [www.facebook.com/kohls]. They are giving away $500,000 to the 20 schools [public or private] that receive the most votes in their contest. We need you and everybody you know to go online and vote for Good Shepherd Christian Academy. Each person is allowed to vote for a certain school 5 times and we need all 5 of those votes to go to Good Shepherd Christian Academy. For instructions on how to vote, please see the bottom of this email.

And then, once you have voted 5 times, go tell others to vote for Good Shepherd as well. We need everyone to spread the word to their colleagues, neighbors and friends. Tell your friends in other churches across the U.S. and even back in Egypt. Anyone can vote from anywhere in the world! If it helps, I created this video that you can forward to your friends, explaining why they should vote for us, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hai2GfMVLHs.

I believe that God is sending this contest to us at this time because He knows our need. For those who were around back in 2002-03 when we were building the current Sunday school building, God did a similar miracle at the time. He sent us several hundred Sony Vaio computers as a donation and through the selling of those computers, we made a profit of about $500,000. He just put that money in our lap and I believe He is doing the same thing right now through this contest.

This is your chance to be part of a great work by the Hand of the Lord. Go vote for Good Shepherd Christian Academy 5 times and then spread the word to everyone you know. I have no doubt that if we all put our hands together on this and then put those united hands in the Mighty Hand of our God, we’ll see something big happen…

Controversy swells as Obama supports Ground Zero mosque

WASHINGTON (AFP) – US President Barack Obama's endorsement of a controversial plan to build a mosque just blocks from Ground Zero poured fuel Saturday on a raging debate over religious freedom and sensitivities over the 9/11 attacks.

Muslims "have the same right to practice their religion as anyone else in this country," Obama said at an Iftar meal at the White House for Muslims breaking their Ramadan fast late Friday.

That includes "the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in lower Manhattan."

Obama had remained on the sidelines over plans to build an Islamic cultural center, which includes a mosque, two blocks away from the gaping Ground Zero hole where the Twin Towers were destroyed on September 11, 2001.

But after a New York city commission on August 3 unanimously approved the plans, the president came out to fully support the project.

"This is America," Obama said, "and our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakeable. The principle that people of all faiths are welcome in this country, and will not be treated differently by their government, is essential to who we are."

Planners say the multi-story "Cordoba House" will include a mosque, sports facilities, theater, restaurant and possibly a day care, and would be open to all visitors to demonstrate that Muslims are part of their community.

In the remarks Obama acknowledged that the site where the World Trade Center towers once stood remains "hallowed ground," and that the 9/11 attacks "were a deeply traumatic event for our country."

The proposed location however has touched raw nerves.

On Saturday the group 9/11 Families for a Safe & Strong America, which represents some relatives of attack victims, said it was "stunned" by the president's remarks.

Obama "has abandoned America at the place where America's heart was broken nine years ago, and where her true values were on display for all to see," the group said.

"Now this president declares that the victims of 9/11 and their families must bear another burden. We must stand silent at the last place in America where 9/11 is still remembered with reverence or risk being called religious bigots."

Building the mosque "is a deliberately provocative act that will precipitate more bloodshed in the name of Allah," the group claimed.

Another group representing other relatives of 9/11 victims, the September Eleventh Families for Peaceful Tomorrows, said in May that it "strongly supports" the Islamic center.

A CNN/Opinion Research poll earlier this month showed that 68 percent of Americans opposed the Islamic center plans, while only 29 percent favored them.

Congressman Peter King, who represents New York in the US House of Representatives, said the Muslim community was "abusing" its rights and "needlessly offending" many people.

"It is insensitive and uncaring for the Muslim community to build a mosque in the shadow of ground zero," said King, a Republican. "Unfortunately the president caved in to political correctness."

Self-described "liberal Muslim" Farzana Hassan, a Canadian, told Fox News on Saturday that she believes the Islamic center's location is "provocative."

"This is highly insensitive to the sentiments of the people who lost loved ones in the 9/11 attacks," said Hassan, who has written books on Islam.

Obama said the Al-Qaeda terrorists responsible for the 9/11 attacks do not represent Islam.

"It is a gross distortion of Islam," the president said late Friday. "In fact, Al-Qaeda has killed more Muslims than people of any other religion -- and that list of victims includes innocent Muslims who were killed on 9/11."

The Council on American-Islamic Relations, a US advocacy group, said it welcomed Obama's "strong support for Muslim religious rights."

Nihad Awad, a senior CAIR official, said he hoped his remarks "will serve as encouragement to those who are challenging the rising level of Islamophobia in our society."

Awad also urged "other national political and religious leaders to speak out in defense of the freedom of religion and equality of all Americans."

One of those reacting Saturday was New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

"I applaud President Obama's clarion defense of the freedom of religion," Bloomberg said in a statement.

The proposed site "is as important a test of the separation of church and state as we may see in our lifetime," he said.

Passions over the issue run high across the country.

A Florida church has already said it will hold a "Koran-burning" on September 11 -- which this year coincides with Eid al-Fitr, the end-of-Ramadan holiday.

President Obama Supports 'Ground Zero Mosque'

President Obama Supports 'Ground Zero Mosque'

David Knowles Writer
AOL News Surge Desk
(Aug. 13) -- President Barack Obama gave a thumbs up today to a proposed Islamic community center and mosque that is slated to be built two blocks from the site of the 9/11 attacks in lower Manhattan.

"Let me be clear," Obama said at a White House dinner celebrating the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, "as a citizen, and as president, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as anyone else in this country.

"That includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances," Obama said, according to CNN.
Obama's remarks drew a prompt response from Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y. "President Obama is wrong," said King, The Associated Press reported. "It is insensitive and uncaring for the Muslim community to build a mosque in the shadow of ground zero. While the Muslim community has the right to build the mosque, they are abusing that right by needlessly offending so many people who have suffered so much."

The proposed construction of the Cordoba House Islamic Center has divided U.S. politicians and the public. Obama's remarks follow a line of argument put forth by New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who made an impassioned defense of the construction of the Islamic center in a speech delivered on Governor's Island.
Politicians such as Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich have opposed the mosque, citing their view that the former site of the World Trade center is "hallowed ground" and that building Cordoba House in such close proximity is an affront to the memory of those who died in the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

"This is America," Obama declared today, "and our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakable. The principle that people of all faiths are welcome in this country, and will not be treated differently by their government, is essential to who we are. The writ of our founders must endure."

New York's Landmarks Preservation Commission has cleared the way for construction of the Islamic center, which will occupy the site that once housed a Burlington Coat Factory outlet store, but the state's governor, David Paterson, has suggested that other land might be made available to the developers of the project.

California: Pro-Sharia Mosque Gets OK to Build 64 Ft Minaret

A Muslim Cries Out to Jesus

California: Pro-Sharia Mosque Gets OK to Build 64 Ft Minaret
In another step forward towards the Islamification of America, a Santa Clara Mosque has been given the OK to put up a sign of Islamic dominance, in a 64 Ft minaret. The Muslim Community Association runs the Mosque, and it sure would have been nice if the people of the community, would have taken the time to gather some back round information on them. From the MCA “constitution”…

Whereas we, the Muslims of the San Francisco Bay area, recognize Islam as a total way of life and have pledged to endeavor practicing it as such, we do hereby adopt and give to ourselves this constitution which is formulated in accordance with Quran and Sunnah, and pledge to abide by its provisions, Insha’Allah.
Section 1.
The aims and purposes of the Association shall be to advance the cause of Islam and serve Muslims in the San Francisco Bay area so as to enable them to adopt Islam as a complete way of life.
Section 1.
The Association shall be affiliated with the Muslim Community Association of United States and Canada, an organization of the Islamic Society of North America. This affiliation shall be in accordance with Article III of the constitution of the Muslim Community Association of United States and Canada as shown in Annexure I.
Section 2.
An applicant a or renewing member shall testify in the basic beliefs of Islamic faith specifically:
1. Belief in Allah (SWT);
2. Belief in Muhammad (PBUH) as the last of the prophets;
3. Belief in the Books of Allah (SWT);
4. Belief in the angels;
5. Belief in the Day of Judgment;
6. Belief in Kadaa and Qudr.
Section 3.
A person who belongs to a group which has deviated from the specified Islamic beliefs such as Quadianis, Druze, and Bahais shall not be members of the Association.
You cannot get anymore pro-Sharia than that, and if Sharia is not banned, it will eventually destroy America as know it from within.
Hat tip to Dawn.
Santa Clara: Mosque’s 64-foot minaret OK’d by planning commission
By Lisa Fernandez
Santa Clara planning commissioners Wednesday night approved the design of a nearly 64-foot minaret to be built alongside the Bay Area’s largest mosque — a decision that coincidentally occurred on the second night of Ramadan, Islam’s holiest month of fasting.
The city’s architectural review board had earlier approved the design, but a businessman with an office near the mosque appealed the decision to the commission. Commissioners unanimously rejected the appeal.
“We’re very, very happy,” said Mohammed Sarodi, chair of the board of trustees for the Muslim Community Association on Scott Boulevard. Sarodi said the minaret, along with a larger construction project to enhance and enlarge the mosque’s entrance, could be completed in about nine months. The commission decision can be appealed to the city council within the next week.
A minaret is a tower, where in some places, a religious leader calls the village to prayer. Mosque leaders say the minaret will not be used for that purpose in Silicon Valley; rather, it will be an architectural symbol of the Islamic faith.
Thomas Scott, president of Cambridge Management Company across the street, was the only person to file a formal request to deny the minaret’s construction. His main complaint was that the minaret would be an “architectural curiosity” and set an “unusual precedent,” as he stated in a letter to the city. In a letter sent to the Mercury News this week, Scott stated his problems with the mosque included the jammed parking lots at the popular house of worship, and that construction on the mosque appeared to be “piecemeal.”
His main opposition, he said, is that adding these types of structures in a light industrial area lowers the property value for the rest of the surrounding businesses.
A few others at Wednesday’s meeting also opposed the minaret. One person railed against “Islamic domination” and “Muslims taking over America.”
Talk about being asleep at the wheel…

Egyptian Media and Islamic Justice

by Dottore Architetto Ashraf Ramelah

few days ago an Egyptian newspaper, Al-Ahram, reported the massacre of six Muslim employees of the Al-Mokauloon al Arab construction company and the wounding of six others when, apparently without warning or provocation, a Muslim bus driver stopped his bus, took out a rifle and began shooting. The incident took place about three hundred meters from the entrance of the company's office building. The driver then returned to his seat and drove the bus to its final destination.

During the interrogation, the killer justified his action by saying that his fellow workers were teasing him for his refusal to allow some of them to search for historic relics underneath his home for their own personal gain. He purchased a gun from a police officer more than two years earlier for seven thousand Egyptian pounds ($1,500) for the purpose of defending himself against these "old monument mafia." Previously, he contacted the police to report this issue in order to protect his property but the police did nothing.

According to the same newspaper article, this outrageous act was particularly shocking in a society that is always peaceful and where civilians are not allowed to carry a gun without special permit. For these reasons the attorney general deemed the case urgent and ordered an immediate examination in order that justice would not be delayed.

On July 11, 2010, Osama Saraia, the editor-in-chief of Al-Ahram, the same government-controlled Arabic newspaper where the original story appeared, wrote a comment condemning the horrible incident,

The massacre committed by the bus driver of Al-Mokauloon al Arab is an ugly crime. This person is a real criminal and must be judged severely and given the proper punishment in order for all of us to feel safe. (translated from Arabic into English)

For the remainder of the article, Saraia goes on to rule out mental illness as a defense and adopts a hard-line approach toward such crimes. Those from the West who are unfamiliar with the internal politics of Egypt will find it difficult to understand why those who know better will take serious issue with his straight-forward statements. It is certainly correct to agree with him in his call for immediate justice and maximum punishment, but the problem is that he gives the general impression that Egypt's criminal justice system is fair and just, and similar to our democratic system in the West when, of course, it is not. Soraia's statements project exactly what serves to present and protect the pristine image of Egypt seen by the West. Soraia's comments lead us to believe that Egypt is a peaceful and stable country with justice for all, Muslim and non-Muslim. This is at best misleading.

Repeatedly we see that there are no guilty verdicts for those accused of killing Coptic Christians, no serious attempts at finding the facts in cases where Copts are massacred, no expediency in bringing justice to those families; but instead, false conclusions derived from scant evidence, hasty round-up of citizens, and paltry attempts to find the truth which satisfy appearances in the international community. Finally, no regard for safety and protection of Copts and their communities.

In short, Soraia's commentary is no less than a cover-up for Egypt's corrupt police force and its dual system of justice. He capitalizes on this crime to further a phony narrative that the Egyptian legal system serves everyone equally and affords everyone law and order. This is propaganda, pure and simple. Is the West gullible enough to accept this? The answer to this question could make all the difference to the minorities suffering in Egypt today.

We never read similar statements to Soraia's when eight Copts were murdered leaving their church after celebrating Christmas mass this year. After almost seven months, there is still no real attempt at accuracy in this case or progress in reaching a judgment regarding the captured criminals. Soraia's comments represent the hypocrisy of the Egyptian regime.

All citizens are equal under the law in civil countries while anyone who really knows Egypt knows their law is applied only when it is convenient to those in power in ways that are always against those who do not belong to the majority.

When innocent lives are taken, no one wants to see a killer get away with murder by reason of insanity, in any murder case. This then only casts more doubt upon the motive of Soraia's chosen commentary about the Al-Mokauloon al Arab massacre when this editor-in-chief of Al-Ahram espouses an uncompromising stand even though he has been so conspicuously silent in instances where Coptic blood is shed in the same senseless fashion. His earnestness now on behalf of his fellow Muslims in this horrible massacre has reminded us of how he and his colleagues have chosen not to act likewise in response to Coptic tragedies when there have been numerous opportunities to do so.

Is Soraia himself and others like him so adapted to a perverted justice system under the Egyptian regime of the last 60 years that he can automatically use his position at Al-Ahram, once a respectable newspaper, as a mouthpiece to further the needs of the regime? Whether intentional or not, the myth he promotes continues to bury the truth of the Egyptian regime's agenda and furthers the cause of inequality and instability which is fostered by rampant discrimination against the non-Muslim population of Egypt.

The State Department’s Islamic Supremacist

It’s unbelievable but true: the imam of the projected Islamic supremacist mega-mosque at Ground Zero, Feisal Abdul Rauf, is on a grand tour to Qatar, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates — paid for by the U.S. State Department with taxpayer money.

The State Department confirmed Tuesday that they were sending Rauf on this mission. “He is a distinguished Muslim cleric,” insisted P. J. Crowley, a State Department spokesman. Crowley explained: “We do have a program whereby, through our Educational and Cultural Affairs Bureau here at the State Department, we send people from Muslim communities here in this country around the world to help people overseas understand our society and the role of religion within our society.”

Crowley emphasized that Rauf’s trip was nothing new: he said that the State Department had “a long-term relationship” with the famous imam, and pointed out that in 2007 the Bush State Department sent Rauf to Morocco, as well as to Bahrain, Qatar, and the UAE 2007. Obama sent Rauf to Egypt last year.

Why have two administrations been so anxious to underwrite this Islamic supremacist cleric’s globetrotting? Crowley explained that Rauf’s “work on tolerance and religious diversity is well-known and he brings a moderate perspective to foreign audiences on what it’s like to be a practicing Muslim in the United States.”

One wonders what definition of “moderate” Crowley, and the Bush and Obama State Departments, use. Rauf openly touts the virtues of Islamic law, Sharia, in his book What’s Right with Islam. Although he covers his arguments in blandness and protestations that there is no significant difference between Sharia and America’s founding principles, he never gets around to discussing the elements of Sharia that outrage principles of human rights that are otherwise universally accepted: the draconian punishments of stoning for adultery and amputation of the hand for theft; the death penalty for those who leave Islam; the institutionalized subjugation of women and non-Muslims; and more.

Notably, however, he does call in the book for restrictions on the freedom of speech. Rauf has compared the West unfavorably to the Islamic world, since the West “protects the right to say anything, no matter how insensitive or scandalous,” while Islamic cultures “balance freedom of expression with respect for elders, traditions and modesty. The idea of respect and honor to elders is deeply ingrained in their psyches.” He has criticized the Swiss ban on minarets as a restriction on religious freedom, without saying a single word about the severe restrictions on non-Muslim religious practice in Islamic states such as Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Iran, and Sudan.

Rauf also says [1] that “what Muslims want is to ensure that their secular laws are not in conflict with the Quran or the Hadith, the sayings of Muhammad.” For Muslims in the U.S., that will inevitably involve bringing Sharia here.

Rauf has also called Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams’ endorsement of the implementation of Sharia courts in Britain “forward thinking” — and once again in doing so remained silent about Islamic law’s institutionalized and divinely sanctioned denial of the freedom of speech, the freedom of conscience, and the equality of rights of all people before the law.

There are numerous other indications that Rauf is not the sterling example of Islamic moderation that the State Department assumes him to be. He has refused to denounce Hamas [2]. He has lied about his commitment to religious dialogue [3], telling American non-Muslims that the Ground Zero mega-mosque will be dedicated to dialogue and harmony among people of different faiths, while telling the Arabic media that he doesn’t believe in religious dialogue. He has lied about whether the Islamic center planned for the Ground Zero site will contain a mosque or not [4], calling it a prayer room without bothering to mention that it will be a place for Islamic prayer, not Jewish or Christian or Hindu or Buddhist prayer.

After the Fort Hood jihad massacre, Rauf made the patently dishonest claim that the shootings were “against the laws of Islam.” None of the mainstream media reporters who dutifully relayed his words to the public bothered to ask him what he meant when Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan’s writings came to light, explaining (with copious references to the Qur’an) the Islamic religious obligation to wage war against infidels. Rauf, as a leading American “moderate,” was in an excellent position at that time to explain in the American public square exactly how his version of Islam differed from Hasan’s, so as to allay the legitimate concerns of non-Muslims and emphasize to Muslims in America how and why they should be unreservedly patriotic Americans. He passed up the opportunity.

Belying his reputation as a “moderate,” Rauf is involved with a group that helped fund the jihad flotilla against Israel [5]. He has also lied about whether or not the project is getting foreign funding [6], telling the American media that the Ground Zero mosque would be funded solely by contributions from Muslims in the United States: “We hope to raise it from a combination of gifts from the local Muslim community and perhaps from some combination of bonds or something like that.” But then he told the Arabic-language Asharq Al-Awsat that “the Islamic center will be financed through contributions from Muslims in the US, as well as by donations from Arab and Islamic countries.”

Rauf has blamed the West, rather than Islamic jihadists, for jihad terrorism, and he has done so more than once. He has said, according to Australia’s Sun-Herald, that “the US and the West must acknowledge the harm they have done to Muslims before terrorism can end.” He has also asserted that “Western active involvement in shaping the internal affairs of Islamic societies have contributed to the creation of terrorism done in the name of Islam.” About the role that the jihad doctrine has played in inspiring jihad terrorists, he has been notably silent. After the 9/11 jihad terror attacks, he said that American foreign policy had to be held as an “accessory” to those attacks.

Many years have passed, of course, since he said that. But now that he is an official emissary of the U.S. State Department, don’t the American people deserve at least some answers as to Rauf’s questionable statements and activities? Unfortunately, in increasingly elitist Washington, it is unlikely that the questions themselves will even be acknowledged.

CAIR’s War on America

Frontpage Interview’s guest today is Dave Gaubatz, the first U.S. civilian (1811) Federal Agent deployed to Iraq in 2003. He is the owner of DG Counter-terrorism Publishing [1]. He is currently conducting a 50 State Counter-terrorism Research Tour (CTRT). He is the co-author (with Paul Sperry) of Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld that’s Conspiring to Islamize America. [2] He can be contacted at davegaubatz@gmail.com [3].

FP: Dave Gaubatz, welcome to Frontpage Interview.

I would like to catch up with you today about the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and its activities.

Let’s begin with CAIR’s attacks on those freedom fighters in our society who are fighting to tell the truth about the enemy we face. Recently, CAIR sent a letter [4] to the FBI and Virginia’s Tidewater Joint Terrorism Task Force condemning Robert Spencer’s training of U.S. law enforcement officers. The letter painted Spencer, as well as Pamela Geller, as essentially Islamophobes, bigots and unqualified to train law enforcement on Islamic based terrorist group issues. In a press release that followed [5], CAIR states that

Jesse Jackson has joined their campaign to get FBI head Robert Mueller to apologize for having Spencer speak.

What do you make of all of this?

Gaubatz: Thank you Jamie. I consider Robert Spencer and his close associate Pamela Geller to be leaders and among the most knowledgeable to train our law enforcement. I also consider them friends - as I do Steve Emerson, Nonie Darwish, Daniel Pipes, and the thousands of ACT members/leaders across America.

I feel it is important for readers to understand that anything said by either Jesse Jackson or CAIR should be ignored. Both have one common denominator: The truth means nothing to either. Author Kenneth R. Timmerman wrote an outstanding book, Shakedown: Exposing the Real Jesse Jackson, that I encourage all Frontpage readers to read.

In any case, if our law enforcement received their training in regards to Islamic based terrorist groups directly from the people/organizations I just mentioned, our country and our children would be well on its way to being secure. Robert Spencer is a professional, as are the others mentioned.

FP: Sp what do you make of letters like these being sent to the FBI by groups such as CAIR?

Gaubatz: Jamie, CAIR, Defending Dissent Foundation, Islamic Shura Council of Southern California, Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), MAS Freedom, Muslim Advocates, Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC),,Sikh Coalition, South Asian Americans Leading Together (SAALT) and such other groups as MANA, ISNA, MSA, IIIT are all Islamic based terrorist supporters. Our book, Muslim Mafia, clearly reveals the ties that CAIR and other members of the Muslim Brotherhood have to Islamic based terrorism.

When FBI Director Mueller received the letter we are discussing he should have immediately recognized the source and recognized the letter for what it is: a form of Jihad used to disrupt our law enforcement from doing their duties. Jihad comes in many forms. CAIR and others train their members to engage in the form of Jihad using the ‘pen and tongue.’ Essentially CAIR (Muslim Brotherhood) leaders rely on the ‘pen and tongue’ (articles, interviews, speeches, and other avenues of spoken and written media). The terrorist leadership relies on the physical form of Jihad (Jihad Qital/fighting) to be used by their followers such as Maj. Hasan who committed terrorism against innocent people at Ft. Hood.

Nihad Awad of CAIR and the other leaders count on low level Muslim worshippers who follow Islamic issues to target people who ‘oppress CAIR, ISNA, etc…

FP: What is your professional opinion of Mr. Mueller? Are our law enforcement officers properly trained to protect our country?

Gaubatz: Well Jamie, first of all, our law enforcement is not properly trained in regards to how to conduct proactive investigations of Islamic based terrorist groups. I put much of the blame here at the doorstep of Mr. Mueller himself.

The following statement was made by Mueller: “One of the things that we are critically seeking are special agents and support staff who are Arabic speakers.” He announced this to the audience at the ADAMS mosque, which was founded and funded by members of the Muslim Brotherhood. It has been one of the top distributors of Wahhabist anti-Semitic and anti-Christian dogma.

My private research has revealed Mr. Mueller has his agents recruiting for future federal FBI agents and Arabic translators from the same mosques who are advocating killing innocent people and implementing Sharia law. This is not a competent man in my professional opinion. Has he reached out to the Coptic Christian Community to recruit translators and agents? The Coptic Christian Community has strong ties to Egypt, Lebanon, and Jordon. They want to protect America but are being shunned by politicians and senior law enforcement.

Robert Spencer is a professional and our law enforcement needs him — and hundreds like him - to provide the truth about Islamic based terrorist groups currently operating in America. Our law enforcement officers at the street level have the desire to protect our country and most understand our country is on the edge of the ‘point of no return’ in regards to organized criminal groups and immigration. Our country is ripe for a takeover by Islamic terror groups.

FP: Share with us some of the things you have learned during your private counter-terrorism research.

Gaubatz: Jamie, I have personally conducted private counter-terrorism research at over 250 Islamic Centers/Mosques in America. I have traveled from the east coast to the west coast and in between. I returned from Florida recently and had the opportunity to obtain fresh Islamic material. The same message is still being advocated by Islamic leaders: An Islamic Ummah (Nation) is the ultimate objective of Islam, and Sharia law will dominate the world (yes liberals the world includes America).

The following is from a manual that is in 75-90% of all Sunni based mosques in America, and it is being used by CAIR National (Muslim Brotherhood) as a reference book to assist them in their war against our great country:

“The objective of Islamic Jihad is to put an end to the dominance of the un-Islamic systems of government and replace them with Islamic rule. Islam intends to bring about this revolution not in one country or in a few countries, but in the entire world.”

I encourage all of our country’s journalists to ask Mr. Nihad Awad if he agrees with the above statement by Abul Mawdudi. Mr. Awad only has two possible answers:

[1] Yes.

[2] No.

If CAIR Executives agree with Mawdudi, and therefore are dedicated to overthrowing the American government and establishing Islamic law, let me ask this: Should they not be charged, as many of their former co-workers have been charged, and subsequently imprisoned for advocating terrorism against America? And in addition for treason and sedition? Awad will likely use deception as he and others have been trained by the Saudi government to do. Awad may say he disagrees. So if he disagrees, they we must all demand that he remove all material by Mawdudi from his non-profit organization and from the ‘peace loving’ Islamic Centers that distribute this type violent material to their worshippers-to include young children.

FP: So how much danger are we in?

Gaubatz: Jamie, from everything I have witnessed and all that I know, I can tell you this: our country is already in a slow and methodical process of being taken over. There are many Mr. Muellers, Congressmen Keith Ellisons, and Senator Larry Shaws who are actually facilitating the work of terrorist groups through their open cooperation with and support of the groups, like CAIR, that give them cover.

People have to remember that the leadership of Islamic terror groups is educated and has the goal of overthrowing our country. I have mentioned on numerous occasions that organizations such as CAIR and their friends have a more organized ’source’ network than our FBI does. They are much better at recruiting and training their members than most law enforcement is capable of. The Muslim Brotherhood does not have to deal with political correctness, political red tape, or worry about funding. They do not even care about the truth. They have liberal media organizations in their back pockets. The Muslim Brotherhood has millions of dollars coming into America from their friend and leader - the Saudi government.

FP: Final thoughts?

Gaubatz: Well, we started by talking about Robert Spencer so I would like to speak about him again before we go. Robert Spencer is an American hero and Americans should never be concerned with the name calling and smears that Islamist organizations engage in. My research team and I are comprised of Christians, Jews, Muslims and former Muslims. Americans have a legitimate right to be concerned about the intentions of Islamic based terrorist groups operating inside our country and its time to put the light on the politicians and senior law enforcement individuals who are cooperating with them.

I call on all Americans to stand behind Robert Spencer and to demand that law enforcement officials who do not support him to resign from their positions, as they are clearly not qualified to perform them. Americans, specifically our children, need first-line defenders who will protect them, not feed them to the wolves.

On Aug 10, 2010, Andrew C. McCarthy summed it up [6] at National Review Online: “If any party is owed an apology or explanation from our government, it is the American people — over the government’s courtship of CAIR.”

I am stressing to your readers that the FBI under Director Mueller’s has not discontinued its courtship of CAIR - as they are leading American’s to believe. Director Mueller is simply going through the backdoor to coordinate with the Muslim Brotherhood by using ISNA, MSA, MANA, and a host of other acronyms which in reality equate to the same treasonous ideology as CAIR.

FP: Dave Gaubatz, thank you for joining us.

Tax Dollars to Build Mosques

The State Department is sending Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf - the mastermind of the Ground Zero Mosque - on a trip through the Middle East to foster “greater understanding” about Islam and Muslim communities in the United States. However, important questions are being raised about whether this is simply a taxpayer-funded fundraising jaunt to underwrite his reviled project, which is moving ahead in Lower Manhattan.

Mr. Rauf is scheduled to go to Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and Qatar, the usual stops for Gulf-based fundraising. The State Department defends the five-country tour saying that Mr. Rauf is “a distinguished Muslim cleric,” but surely the government could find another such figure in the United States who is not seeking millions of dollars to fund a construction project that has so strongly divided America.

By funding the trip so soon after New York City’s Landmarks Preservation Commission gave the go-ahead to demolish the building on the proposed mosque site, the State Department is creating the appearance that the U.S. government is facilitating the construction of this shameful structure. It gives Mr. Rauf not only access but imprimatur to gather up foreign cash. And because Mr. Rauf has refused to reveal how he plans to finance his costly venture, the American public is left with the impression it will be a wholly foreign enterprise. This contradicts the argument that a mosque is needed in that part of New York City to provide services for a burgeoning Muslim population. If so many people need the mosque so badly, presumably they could figure out a way to pay for it themselves.

Americans also may be surprised to learn that the United States has been an active participant in mosque construction projects overseas. In April, U.S. Ambassador to Tanzania Alfonso E. Lenhardt helped cut the ribbon at the 12th-century Kizimkazi Mosque, which was refurbished with assistance from the United States under a program to preserve culturally significant buildings. The U.S. government also helped save the Amr Ebn El Aas Mosque in Cairo, which dates back to 642. The mosque’s namesake was the Muslim conqueror of Christian Egypt, who built the structure on the site where he had pitched his tent before doing battle with the country’s Byzantine rulers. For those who think the Ground Zero Mosque is an example of “Muslim triumphalism” glorifying conquest, the Amr Ebn El Aas Mosque is an example of such a monument - and one paid for with U.S. taxpayer funds.

The mosques being rebuilt by the United States are used for religious worship, which raises important First Amendment questions. U.S. taxpayer money should not be used to preserve and promote Islam, even abroad. In July 2009, the Office of the Inspector General published an audit of U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) faith-based and community initiatives that examined whether government funds were being used for religious activities. The auditors found that while USAID was funding some religious activities, officials were “uncertain of whether such uses of Agency funding violate Agency regulations or the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to the Constitution” when balanced against foreign-policy objectives.

For example, our government rebuilt the Al Shuhada Mosque in Fallujah, Iraq, expecting such benefits as “stimulating the economy, enhancing a sense of pride in the community, reducing opposition to international relief organizations operating in Fallujah, and reducing incentives among young men to participate in violence or insurgent groups.” But Section 205.1(d) of title 22 of the Code of Federal Regulations prohibits USAID funds from being used for the rehabilitation of structures to the extent that those structures are used for “inherently religious activities.” It is impossible to separate religion from a mosque; any such projects will necessarily support Islam.

The State Department is either wittingly or unwittingly using tax money to support Mr. Rauf’s efforts to realize his dream of a supersized mosque blocks away from the sacred ground of the former World Trade Center, which was destroyed by Islamic fanaticism. This ill-considered decision will raise the ire of millions of Americans and illustrates the limits of what the denizens of Foggy Bottom know about diplomacy.
